Paceline, June 17

Hi team,

The big news this week is the Downtown Salinas Criterium on the 22nd. Register here. As many MBRTers are still looking for ways to help we're going to have a planning meeting this week:
Team Meeting Thursday, 6:30pm
The Don Chapin Company
560 Crazy Horse Canyon Rd.

This meeting is for anyone interested in helping set up/tear down and run the races through the day (Course Set Up, Road Closures, kids race organization, podium organization, announcers, prime organization, punch and pie, etc). This is your chance to get involved.

Ride/Race Reports

Congrats to Steven Jones for his win at CCCX on Sunday, which I believe is his second win on that course. I hear that Evan gave him a leadout. Nice teamwork!

Stacy Van Horn(dog) placed 3rd in the 45+. Andrew placed 4th in the 3/4 35+ but he says he needs to perfect the timing of his sprint on that course. Me too buddy, me too. Several other MBRTers raced at CCCX as well. Race reports are still coming in. And my sincere apologies to Sara Stearns. I forgot to mention her two second place finishes at the senior games in my last Paceline! (To all others who I have passed over in the Paceline or anywhere else in my emails, please accept my apologies, it's unintentional.)

Upcoming Rides/Races

TNPR - The Tuesday Night Practice Race at CCCX. Five laps of fun.

DOWNTOWN SALINAS CRITERIUM. Don't even think about the SMR because our crit is this Saturday. Have I hyped this up enough? By now you should be registered and if you don't know how you're going to help, see the "Team Meeting" info above. Huddle up with your teammates and make sure you have a game plan.

Burlingame Criterium, Sunday. Featuring a U-Turn, which means you need to go to the front or you'll get shout out the back. Sounds rad.

In Other News, How do you finish races?

Do you attack from 1000 meters out? Or are you a sprinter? (Find out if you're a sprinter by taking this quiz) If you want to work on your sprint you should come to the track with me.
