Hi Team,

Ride/Race Reports
Our BELOVED BISON is off racing in BELGIUM. From his email updates we see that racing is serious business in Europe, averaging 26.5mph for nearly 75 minutes. I don't use a computer on my bike but that sounds fast to me, especially when you factor in the cobbles.
MBRT won the E4 and E2/3 races at the Clean Air Criterium yesterday! Chris White won the E4 with Mike O'Neil second; I took the 2/3 race. Chris was pretty gracious in his race report and gives ample credit to his teammates Matt and Mike for the assist. I watched the final few laps and the three of them played it perfectly. The same story repeated itself in the 2/3 -- it was great to race with D3, Andrew, Graham, Leo and Brownie. I credit the team for the win.

Upcoming Rides/Races
TNPR - The World Championship. This Tuesday at CCCX. 15 riders raced it last week, 17 if you count the mighty Ken Calendar and his daughter on a tandem, which was awesome to see. PRO Cyclist Logan Loader took the sprint. Should we accept that he's a PRO and we're mortals or is there a chance that we might be able to beat him with teamwork? And the bigger question: Is it weird that I keep track of the results?
Wednesday Night Racing at Hellyer Velodrome - I'm heading up to the track this week to spread the MBRT love...and pass out flyers for our crit. I raced ~25 times at the track last year but haven't raced up there once this season. In the words of Michael Hernandez, Hellyer, I think it is time <--click for a pretty good pump-up video.
Red Kite Crit - Saturday in Pleasanton. Your basic industrial park crit. Evan won a race on this course earlier in the season. Are any MBRTers going up to race? Does anyone want to carpool?
CCCX # 7 - Yes! Sunday at Fort Ord. It's the course you used to hate but have now grown to love...This is our local series and we've had a great presence all season. Let's keep the momentum going this coming weekend.

How do you warm up for your races? I saw an interesting video online from Team Sky that explains their Time Trial warmup protocol. Speaking of TTs, local hardmen Logan Loader and Eamon Lucas raced the NCNCA TT championship over the weekend. Eamon placed third in this district championship event, which goes to show the depth of Norcal racing.
A few riders have commented on the video I sent out last week showing a someone repeatedly puncture a tire with a sharp object. Let me remind all of the men reading that It's Not About the Nail.
