Ride/Race Reports
Congratulations to Evan Rossow for bringing home a yellow jersey in the Sea Otter Classic criterium! Even also placed second in his circuit race. Steve Jones, Andrew Heinemann, and I all placed second in our respective crit categories (here's my race). There were a number of other top ten MBRT finishers as well. Mary Lawson enjoyed the mountain bike Grand Fondu. I also saw THE BISON, Sara Stearns, Kadria, Chris W, Matt, Ryan, Les, Chris Brown , Leo and maybe a few others who I am forgetting...overall, MBRT had an excellent showing with at least one dozen riders racing. With a 1st, and three 2nd place finishes in the criterium we may have won the team standings again.
In addition, local female riders Ginger Snell and Mina Pizzini won races at Sea Otter. And Eamon Lucas is still racing well in Europe.
Upcoming Rides/Races
The weather is great! Even if you're not currently racing you should put on the MBRT jersey and go ride your bike.
TNPR - The Tuesday Night Practice Race is in effect on the CCCX Fort Ord course. It starts at 6pm for five laps.
Wednesday Night Racing at Hellyer Velodrome is on! Do you have the requisite novice sessions to race? If not, you can go to the track this Saturday at 9am and rent a bike for $5 to get started.
Thursday, Friday - Secret Training? Mountain biking on trail 49?
SMR - Fun in Pebble Beach. I hear Dean Knudsen has been out to the SMR a few times lately.
Wente Road Race and Criterium are this Saturday and Sunday. Are you driving to Wente? I might want to carpool.
On Saturday, there is a Time Trial near Hayward. On Sunday there's a crit near Fresno. Andrew hasn't asked yet but he probably wants to borrow my zipp wheels for the crit near Folsom, which is also on Sunday.
