Paceline, March 25

Hi Team,

Ride/Race Reports

From what I saw in the emails it looks like only Len raced this past weekend. Well done, Len! In addition, there was a fast SMR according to the report from Stacy VanHorndog. And diesel motor Jeremy Loader won the TNPR last week. Did I miss anything?

Upcoming Rides/Races

Hellyer Velodrome- Intro to Training and Racing. 6pm tonight. (It's an hour drive, get going!) Rental bikes are $5. And if that's too short of notice you can check it out next Monday.

TNPRThe Tuesday Night Practice Race is here and it's a great place to build fitness. Start at 6pm. This week will be the CCCX course. If you want to roll from the wharf at 4:30 or 5pm please send out an email. Also, there's been talk of setting up a crit on the Seaside Bay View course. I think that's a great idea, as dropped riders can jump back in. With a few cones we can make it happen.

SMR- The Saturday Morning Ride. 7:15am. As usual, the options are to sit in or go to the front. Which will you choose?

Copperopolis- This is a California classic and it's a challenging race. MBRT had a pretty good turnout last year. (Unfortunately, I spent the past week off the bike and don't feel like I'm ready for 84 miles.) Who is doing it this year? Speak up and carpool.

Aptos Ride? I saw a few emails but don't know if the Sunday Aptos ride materialized this past weekend. It's the default long ride for Sundays. So if there's no race....

In Other News

Wednesday Night Racing at Hellyer Velodrome starts up again next month. I plan on going. You're invited. It's hard to double with the TNPR and Wednesday night racing. Back-to-back intensity can bring burnout. My plan is to do both for the first two weeks of April in an attempt to bring myself to a peak for Sea Otter Classic. Speaking of that...

Sea Otter Classic is right around the corner. Don provided a $10 discount code for registration: SOCCLUB7 Use it!
SOC is awesome - it is one of the biggest cycling events in California. MBRT had a successful campaign in 2012; we brought home four yellow jerseys last year. There are events for everyone, from crits to cyclocross to Grand Fondus. Even if you're not racing, please plan on showing support. And check out the expo!

In my opinion, Babe Ruth defeated Lance Armstrong. Who do you think won? I know who won. Peter Sagan. When Peter Sagan pulls through it's an attack. And after l'enfant terrible rode away from everyone he made winning look easy with a finish line wheelie. Too cocky?
